My Story
Hello, I’m André, an Indy indie filmmaker passionate about creative and collaborative forms of storytelling.
I grew up in a multinational household with a Brazilian father and a Colombian mother. Due to my father’s work while I was growing up, my family has lived in São Paulo, BR; Guadalajara, MX; and Indianapolis, US. Every five or so years, my family was uprooted and resettled in a completely new country. Because of this, from an early age, I developed a knack for languages, listening, understanding different perspectives, and adapting to new cultures.
I developed a love for storytelling in High School through theatre and radio programs that carried over to college at Ball State University, where I graduated with a major in Video Production and minors in Theatre and Creative Writing.
Since 2019, I’ve worked freelance on all kinds of video-related work, including cinematography for independent films, shooting wedding videos, editing and managing a team of video editors for a podcast production company, and producing ads for commercial and political campaign clients.
Besides working on corporate and documentary films, I’m a board member of Patchwork Indy, a nonprofit organization that aims to support and connect the various diverse communities of Indianapolis.
My philosophy behind storytelling is marry the pillars of what makes a good story, including conflict, plot, character, and theme; with unique, purposeful, and creative aesthetic approaches to each story I tell.
My philosophy behind storytelling is founded on listening and developing unique and creative approaches in turn.
I love to collaborate with businesses and individuals to tell impactful and important stories, so don’t hesitate to contact me about creative inquiries!
